PASTOR BENNAI’S PRESENTATION Sunday, Nov 1st at Noon Many of you have heard some of Pastor Bennai’s story during Bible Class on the Sundays he preaches and have wanted to hear his entire story. You now have that opportunity! Pastor Bennai is a former Muslim. He will share with us how the Holy Spirit worked in his heart to bring him to the knowledge of the one true God. Not only did he become a Christian, but he also became a Lutheran Pastor! You will hear the many obstacles and challenges he faced during this miraculous conversion. He then will discuss the differences and similarities between Christianity and Islam in terms of some of the doctrines such as 1. God 2. Scripture-the Bible vs the Korran 3. Jesus: Who is Jesus in the Koraan? 4. The work of Jesus—is he truly the son of God? 5. Atonement 6. Heaven & Hell. We will have a potluck at noon followed by his presentation. Bring a main dish and a dessert or side dish to share. You are welcome to invite friends and family!

UPCOMING MUSIC EVENTS
October is always a busy month for Lutheran musicians! Below are several activities coming up in preparation for some of the special services towards the end of the month.
The choir will begin looking at its Reformation Sunday music on October 1 at its usual time of 7pm. This year’s Reformation anthem will be “Fear Your God, the Commandments Say”. The choir will also be preparing an anthem for the 125th anniversary – see below!
The 125th Anniversary Service is Saturday, October 24 at 3pm. The theme is “tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord” (Psalm 78:4b), so we are involving as many generations of our church as we can in the music! Besides the choir performing a hymn written for the occasion, the service will feature an offertory song by Sunday School youth and several instrumentalists spanning 3 generations. If you or your child would like to participate in the choir anthem and/or offertory song, please let me know!
The bell choir will meet for its first rehearsal of the fall on October 1 at 6:00 p.m. and continue meeting throughout the month to prepare for its appearance on Reformation Sunday. If you have not had the opportunity to try music or music at our church before, I highly recommend you give the bell choir a go!
For the glory of God,
Timothy Schmidt
